Synopsis

A Novella

Behind a veil of secrecy, deep within a remote and heavily guarded underground facility known only as Site M, a team of brilliant minds toils in silence, pushing the boundaries of human knowledge. The air hums with tension, not just from the advanced machinery, but from the weight of what they are creating—technology so powerful, so dangerous, that its existence must remain hidden from the world. This is a place where the line between discovery and destruction blurs, where the pursuit of progress is shadowed by the fear that their work might fall into the wrong hands. The scientists here are not just researchers; they are guardians of a secret that could change everything—or end it all. As the days grow shorter and the experiments intensify, whispers spread through the facility: something is about to go wrong. Or perhaps, something is about to go right. But in this place, where the government’s most classified projects are born, the truth is never what it seems. Welcome to the edge of the known world, where the next breakthrough could be salvation—or the beginning of the end.

Unfortunately, the breakthrough they were hoping for, Subject 235, breaches containment in the bowels of the facility. It’s killing its tormentors, and it wants out. The Quick Reaction Force from Nellis Air Force Base is ordered to terminate the subject and retrieve the few remaining hostages. The highly trained security forces airmen descend into the sublevels, never to be seen again. With time running out, they send for retired Tier One operator CIA Paramilitary Officer Jon Smith, who is in Las Vegas to attend a wedding with six of his closest friends.
